Ruth Johnson (Martha Wilkins)

 Split between the pain of leaving her friends behind and a bitter resentment of her sister Sarah, Ruth finds life away from her home in London more difficult than anyone else in her family.

Aged 16, a sk8er girl, she now spends most of her time shut in her room ignoring a cruel world that has taken her away from everything she loves.

When the power fails (ending her self-inflicted seclusion), her sassy attitude and inability to take no for an answer become vital assets.
